I taught at a small, private gifted school. It wasn't until around Spring Break that I was able to pull quality work from them. I thought it was a gifted child issue but I'm thinking it had more to do with the past teachers being so 'free'.

I like your comics, they are right on!teachagiftedkidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17002727267113214524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621742585615038222.post-21788997624747037482008-05-04T04:42:00.000-07:002008-05-04T04:42:00.000-07:00Hi Scott, Having taught for several years, I agree...Hi Scott,

Having taught for several years, I agree with your observation that difficult students can have negative effects in class. I do not agree with your "bad kids" label. As a teacher, I came to realize (through the patient guidance of my senior colleagues) that my job was to nurture goodness and reason in every child. You never know what each child will become because of (or in spite of) each of your actions. This video of Bill Strickland is a great example of the influence a teacher can have on the world by not giving up on the "bad kids." http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/209
Enjoy, and keep on teaching!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06785389386184884713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621742585615038222.post-56784555184981606712008-04-15T11:39:00.000-07:002008-04-15T11:39:00.000-07:00Wow..Blogger should post like this knowledgeable p...Wow..Blogger should post like this knowledgeable post.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621742585615038222.post-91174476746907274142008-04-12T17:28:00.000-07:002008-04-12T17:28:00.000-07:00Well Scott, I admire your persistence. As an attorney that is supposed to represent parents of the type of students you teach, I am still struggling to figure out why I should care to do anything nice for them besides the minimum. Maybe you can enlighten me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621742585615038222.post-25937155082792809102008-04-11T23:16:00.000-07:002008-04-11T23:16:00.000-07:00I enjoyed to read your post cause it is study rela...I enjoyed to read your post cause it is study related.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
